For the past twenty 26, UVSA has hosted the Tet Festival of Southern California. Organized entirely by the youth, UVSA presents the festival as a means of raising funds for the community. Over the past eight years, UVSA has returned in the form of grants over $800,000 to organizations including local entities such as the Garden Grove Fire Department, senior citizen centers, as well as cultural based nonprofits such as Vietnamese Language schools, religious youth groups, Boys and Girl Scout troupes, and many more. The remainder of the profits go towards UVSA's operations, which includes programming of two regional leadership camps for both high school and college students, funding for member Vietnamese Student Associations across 13 different college campuses, programming leadership, social, cultural, and educational events for its members and the community.
